Ambassador Farnaud visits Pretoria Boys’ High School [fr]
On Friday 22 September 2017, Ambassador of France to South Africa, H.E. Mr. Christophe Farnaud, visited Pretoria Boys’ High School to pay tribute to the excellence of their French language education.
In 2015 and 2016, Pretoria Boys’ High School Grade 12 pupils obtained the best result in French for public schools.
Ambassador Farnaud addressed pupils during the Friday General Assembly before meeting with Headmaster Antony Reeler, French teachers Mrs. Coetzee and Mrs. Fratini and pupils learning French at the school.
The Embassy of France in South Africa and Pretoria Boys’ High School plan to reinforce cooperation following this visit through the establishment of a French Club in 2018. Collaboration in the Festival de la Francophonie, taking place in March 2018, will also be expanded.
Did you know French is the second most widely learned foreign language after English globally, the fourth most used language on the internet, and the fifth most widely spoken language in the world?
