Award Ceremony for Peace Ambassadors trained by ARESTA

72 peace ambassadors trained by ARESTA (Agency for Refugee Education, Skills training and Advocacy) were awarded their certificate on Saturday in the Lower Crossroads Municipality. Peace Ambassadors are part of the support to the South African Government to strengthen Communities of Diversity & Peace project which is being implemented in the Western Cape and supported by the French Embassy, the UNHCR and CCFD (a French NGO)

Peace Ambassadors are the learners from different schools such as Phandulwazi, Vuyiseka, Sinethemba and Phillipi High School. This project addresses diversity and peace in communities and is planning to create a peace network that will promote an understanding of diversity and mitigate situations where tensions occur.
