Canal France International workshop for African film schools [fr]

As part of the « Images d’Afrique formation » program for seven film schools across Africa supported by the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Canal France International (the French agency for media cooperation) organised a three-day workshop (18-20 September 2014) hosted by AFDA film school in Johannesburg.

Cooperation with AFDA (The South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance), South Africa’s main cinema school, is well established through the framework of the « Images d’Afrique formation » project.

Well-known French-speaking African director Gaston Kaboré, director of the Imagine school in Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, attended the event.
Participants were host for a reception at the French residence.


Prior to the workshop, on 16 and 17 September, the conference gathered the CILECT Africa Regional Association (CARA), the regional association of the 7 CILECT member schools in the Africa Region [The CILECT is the International Association of Film and Television Schools].
