Consular visit to Lesotho [fr]
M. Raymon Quereilhac, the Consul of France in Johannesburg, paid his first consular visit to Lesotho from April 8th to 10th.
During his stay, organized by Mme Camille Perdereau, director of the Alliance Française and honorary consul to Lesotho, he met with members of the local French community. He was also received by the deputy-head of Protocol and the director of consular affairs at the ministry of Foreign affairs. Whilst there he also paid a visit to the ambassador of the EU delegation in Maseru as well as to the chief of the German cooperation (GIZ).
Finally, he went to Morija, around 40 km from Maseru, where there is a mission founded by French protestant missionaries in 1833. There, he visited the mission’s museum and archives, which include numerous books in French, and he evaluated the maintenance work due by the Consulate to the cemetery of Morija, where some French citizens are laid to rest.
