Discop Africa 2014 [fr]
Discop Africa is an annual, three-day, tradeshow that brings together buyers, sellers and producers of televised entertainment content, seeking to do business with and across Africa.
In 2014, Discop Africa takes place on 5-6-7 November at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. More than 2,000 exhibiting and non-exhibiting delegates from 70 countries are expected to attend, representing around 1,000 companies that drive television business and digital changes in Africa (including the largest contingent ever of producers and distributors of content created in Africa).
France is well-represented with various stands: TV France International (French national agency promoting French TV contents), Canal +, France24, RFI.
During the tradeshow, the Embassy of France, in partnership with TV France International, organises a daily social event called "l’Apéro", offering the delegates the opportunity to engage while enjoying French specialties (wines, cheeses, macarons, cannelés).
On the opening day 5 November 2014, Ambassador Barbier visited the tradeshow and attended the French cocktail event.
