Embassy of France applauds Miroshga rescue team
The Embassy of France wishes to extend its gratitude to all the emergency services involved in the rescue of the passengers and crew of the Capsized vessel Miroshga in Hout Bay on Saturday 13 October.
Among those rescued were 2 French citizens, who had been in Cape Town on holiday. The French Deputy Consul in Cape Town, Eric Herrouin, was alerted of the disaster very soon after the Mirsoshga capsized and was kept up to date with minute by minute developments by the rescue team.
The French citizens rescued from the boat were treated at Constantiaberg Mediclinic and discharged on Saturday evening. They have since returned to France and thanked the rescuers and the staff of the Mediclinic for the treatment they received.
The Embassy and the Consulate extends condolences to the families of John Roberts and Peter Hyett for the passing of their loved ones.
