A Music Festival unlike any other, with more than 3 stages, 40+ performances, a pop-up Market@theSheds and an array of food, wine, craft beer and cocktails - AND IT’S FREE!
The festival is an international phenomenon, celebrated on the same day in more than 700 cities in 120 countries, including China, India, Germany, Italy, Greece, Russia, Australia, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Canada, the United States, the UK and Japan.
The Fête de la Musique brings a world of music to the city.
Pretoria’s version of the Festival takes place in Sunnyside, along the length of Rivier Street, with three main stages along the way:
- Alliance Française de Pretoria (99 Rivier Street),
- Market @ the Sheds’ POPUP at Rivier str. Between Spuy and de Kock, and
- Civil Consult (541 Jorissen Street)
On Make Music Day, amateur and professional musicians are encouraged to perform in the streets, under the slogan "Faites de la Musique" ("Make Music"), a homophone of Fête de la Musique.
