The French Institute of South Africa (IFAS), in collaboration with the Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre, the Cape Town Holocaust Centre, the Durban Holocaust Centre, the Liliesleaf Trust and Mémorial de la Shoah, welcomes the French historian Johann Chapoutot to present its conference "Ideology and crime in the Third Reich".

A specialist on national-socialist Germany, Johann Chapoutot, PHD, has published several books and articles on Nazi ideology, the Nazi vision of history and Nazi and ethics. He has taught in the US and Germany and often lectures in Great Britain, the US and Germany.
In France, Chapoutot is the editor of the 10-volume series ’Histoire de la France contemporaine’ published by le Seuil.
Johann Chapoutot, PHD, is assistant in History at the University of Grenoble, and a member of the Institut Universitaire de France.
