French presence at the Africa Aerospace and Defence 2012
On the 19th of September, the 7th Africa Aerospace and Defence 2012 will open its doors at the Waterkloof Air Force Base in Pretoria. Between the 19th and 21st of September, trade and static displays will attract professional visitors. Then trade days will be followed by the public days and the airshow on the 22nd and 23rd.
AAD has grown significantly and serves the interests of both civilian and military sectors. The event is now the largest exhibition of air, land and sea capabilities on the African continent and has established itself as a major platform for South Africa’s defence and general aviation.
Several French industrial companies will take part to the 2012 exhibition, including Dassault Aviation, DCNS, EADS-Eurocopter, Safran and Thales. Africa Aerospace and Defence is indeed a great opportunity for French firms to strengthen the cooperation with their South-African counterparts after the successful industrial seminary which took place in May 2012.
H.E Jacques Lapouge, French Ambassador in South Africa, will visit AAD 2012 on Thursday the 20th. At this occasion, he will support French firms attending the exhibition and reassert the necessity to develop a strong cooperation in the industrial field between our two countries.
