Global Fund grant to fight HIV and tuberculosis

On 26 April 2019 at the Presidential House was signed a R5 billion grant from the Global Fund to fight HIV and tuberculosis, with the European embassies in attendance.

This new grant to South Africa focuses on the protection of human rights and gender equality of the most marginalized sectors of the population, by supporting the roll-out of an increasingly resilient and sustainable health system.

France is a founding member and the second largest contributor to the Global Fund. As the fight against inequalities is the central theme of France’s presidency of G7, France will host the 6th Replenishment conference on 10 October 2019, in Lyon.
