PRESS RELEASE - FRENCH FOREIGN TRADE MINISTER TO VISIT SOUTH AFRICA (2-4 NOV. 2020)
French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, Mr Franck Riester, will visit South Africa from 2 to 4 November 2020.
The visit comes at a time when both France and South Africa are working to strengthen their economies impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Commitments will focus on innovation and cross-border trade and investment between our two countries.
Mr Riester will meet with South African Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Mr Ebrahim Patel, to raise bilateral trade and economic relations, and with Mr Alvin Botes, Deputy Minister for International Relations and Cooperation.
He will also meet with business leaders and entrepreneurs at Digital Lab Africa, a joint initiative led by the South African Innovation hub Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct.
In Cape Town, Mr Riester will meet business representatives in the fields of innovation, health, the environment, as well as the wine sector. The French minister will also be accompanied by a delegation of French CEOs in the fields of innovation, technology and health.
