Minister of State for European Affairs Harlem Désir will join Rob Davies, South Africa’s trade and industry minister, at the South-Africa France Joint Economic Commission.
This meeting will focus on expanding our economic ties and on the challenges linked to market access. It aims to boost our trade relations and expand our investment policy with South Africa – France’s leading partner in Sub-Saharan Africa and an influential country on the international scene, notably within the BRICS and G20.
This commission was preceded on April 12 by a French-South African business forum co-chaired by Christophe Sirugue, minister of state for industry, the digital sector, and innovation, and Rob Davies. Organized by Business France, it brought together more than 100 private sector participants.
Around ten South-African companies and seventy French companies took part in this business forum.
