The aim of the visit is to strengthen and reaffirm relationships and partnerships between France and South Africa.

Minister Vidalies is scheduled to meet with South African Minister of Transport Dipuo Peters and South African Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Bheki Cele.

In terms of bilateral cooperation France and South Africa have a strategic partnership dating back to 1994. President Jacob Zuma undertook a State Visit to France in July 2016, following a visit by President François Hollande to South Africa in October 2013.

This strong partnership is complemented by sectorial bilateral cooperation in various fields, including transport, agriculture and fisheries.

These key areas of cooperation are at the core of Minister Vidalies’ visit to South Africa.
