Visit of Triggerfish Animation Studios [fr]
On 2 March 2015, Ambassador Barbier visited Triggerfish Animation Studios, which produced the feature films "Adventures in Zambezia" and "Khumba". These two animated films met great success worldwide, especially in France. "Khumba" even had its world premiere in competition at the Annecy animated film festival in 2013 and the following year director Anthony Silverston served as a judge in the competition.
The studio, located near Constantia, currently employs more than 70 people working on three different projects.
Following the visit of a French delegation to South Africa in 2014, Triggerfish will be hosting two students from the Emile Cohl animated school (in Lyon) later this year.
As part of the special SA call for projects at Annecy/MIFA 2015, which will include some time spent in France and mentorship from French partners for the winning project, Triggerfish could be involved in supporting the project from the South African side.
